What is Calisthenics?
Calisthenics comes from two Greek words: kalos, beautiful, and sthenos, strength. This name pretty much sums up what this sport is all about. Calisthenics, which is also often dubbed a ‘street workout’ owing to the fact that it commonly takes place outside, is a creative form of training that takes place with minimal equipment. Instead, through body tension and your bodyweight, complex training sessions can be carried out. Building up strength and having fun when training are always main priorities.

The great thing is that thanks to the great choice of exercises Calisthenics Training is suitable for virtually every individual: in this way beginners can practise Calisthenics without a problem, there are however units that are clearly more demanding, where the greatest possible body control and body tension is necessary. As a general rule, you can do the exercises at any time, in any place. It doesn’t matter if you are at home, travelling, in the garden or in the park, you can train whenever and wherever suits you.

I’ve been looking for calisthenics classes for a while, and I am extremely happy for having found Raphael. Not only that is he professional, with great teaching technique, and an excellent evolving training program; but also the workouts are fun, and conducted in a great atmosphere. I feel I have improved my strength, mobility, and coordination in the time I’ve been training with him.

Raphael regularly surprises me with new exercises, making the training varied and I am really taken aback at everything that I can now do. With his motivational and friendly manner, he coaxes you into repeating the exercise once more. After an hour of training I am worn out and proud of what I have achieved. We have now been training together for several months and I am really happy with the training. Raphael is not only very competent, reliable and friendly but there are also really noticeable results, especially when it comes to mobility and how fit I feel. This has got to be because there is a clear structure to the training and therefore improvements are easily recognisable, which is of course also great for self-motivation. I would never have thought before that so many positive changes would have been possible and we haven’t even finished yet…!
